The updates keep coming! This morning we released some great changes to our website that we think you’ll love.
Printable PDF for sharing cells
It’s now really easy to share joining instructions for any cell. Just go the share section in the right column and click the “printable pdf” button.
This will generate a PDF with your cell logo, description, and instructions on how to join on any of our platforms. Let us know how this works out for you and if you have any suggestions about how to improve it.
In the right column of your cell, you will now see the most recent photos that have been posted, along with a link to see all the photos from your cell. This is also integrated into search, so you can search for has:photo and only messages with photos will show up.
Cmd+Enter to Send
When sending messages on the web, you can now use cmd+enter to send the message immediately, even if you don’t have “enter to send” checked. This matches functionality on other websites like Facebook.
Share a Cell on Reddit
As we work on some exciting new ways for Celly to complement Reddit, we are starting with a quick and easy way to share your cell on reddit. There is now a “reddit this” button in the share section of every cell, making it easy for you to post a link to your cell on Reddit. We want Celly to be the easiest way to start conversations, and this is a first step of many.
Change Cell Name
One of our most requested features is now reality – you can now change the unique name of your cells. Just go to the settings page for your cell and you can easily change it there. You can only change the name once every 24 hours – we set this up to help prevent abuse/harassment scenarios.
Transfer Cell Admin
It’s also now very easy to transfer the admin of a cell to a new member. On the members list on the web, there is a tranfer admin button under each member. This was another frequently requested feature.
Simpler Username Changes
We used to have a restriction that you could only change your username 2 times, and the second time it needed to be approved by Celly support. After much review and thought, we have decided to lift this restriction. You can now change your username as many times as you want, but it is restricted to once every 24 hours – again we set this up to help prevent abuse/harassment scenarios.
As usual, we have also included many bug fixes.
